Phil Duboulay steps down as captain

After 6 seasons as Club Captain, Phil Duboulay is stepping down but continuing his journey with the club.

“What can you say about Phil DuBoulay? One word I would use is legend. In my four years at Beverley RUFC he has undoubtedly been the most committed, hard working, selfless individual within the club. The time and dedication he has spent not only focusing on his own game but bringing on other players with his experience has been incredible. Throwing his body on the line week in, week out, he has fought for the badge and he has had some memorable moments as captain and shown what a true leader he is.

Who could forget THAT day away to Heath or at home to West Leeds from the touch line? All of these skills practiced within his own time. His unwavering commitment to the club even in the most arduous and turbulent times over the past decade make this man one of a kind – a one club man; a man that is fully committed to his boyhood club. I’m sure I’m talking for the whole of Beverley RUFC when I say thank you for your effort, Skips. It has been a pleasure in having this gentleman as a captain and friend.

Thankfully, there is still a lot of life in those legs and many more goals to be dropped over wearing the green and white and we will see many more show and goes over the next few years.”
