BP2 Initial Development Plans Unveiled

Beverley RUFC BP2

Beverley RUFC is launching its ambitious BP2 project which will significantly improve the facilities at Beaver Park for all of our members and visitors to enjoy. Some images of the initial plans for the new clubhouse/car park are included herein.  Expected to be a multi-year programme, the first phase is about fundraising, which comes in two parts 1) member and commercial funding, 2) matched funding from supporting organisations. There will also be planning design, tendering, selection and then construction, followed by transition and migration phases.

The Chairman, Brian Gilbert commented “the whole committee are excited and committed to the project and although it seems very ambitious, it is definitely within our reach.  If we get the support from our members, community and partners, and noting that we have already raised £100,000 towards the target, these fantastic plans can be achieved. We want to make BP2 the envy of other rugby clubs, but also a facility that is available and used week-in, week-out for lots of diverse clubs and organisations in the community, like it is at the moment, but even more. We have decided to stay at our current home, but recognise that our facilities are lacking on a number of critical points and that the clubhouse we currently have won’t last forever, and has increasing maintenance costs every season. We need a plan, a future and an ambition – the BP2 project is that.”

The drawings have been undertaken by Sangwin architects and a representative of a facility that will address car parking congestion, increase the number of changing rooms, which will have private showers (that stay hot), be environmentally conscious in design, offer better segregation for different genders, provide a bigger facility that can be subdivided to sustain different uses, have a kitchen that has appliances and scale to suit the demand, and also accommodate disabled access at all levels.

A mood wall has been constructed in the clubhouse which has more imagery and information pertaining to this ambitious project, and invites support from members or community organisations that want to be involved in this prestigious development.  Beverley RUFC is sincerely determined to put the club back at the heart of Beverley for the whole community to enjoy, and this facility along with the established culture and atmosphere is the perfect combination for the future of the club.
